SPEAKER COACHING
There are still far too many people speaking at events and conferences who take their appearances surprisingly lightly. A few slick PowerPoint slides are thrown together the night before and then off we go. “I know my stuff!”
It doesn’t matter if you serve amazing food or put an incredible artist on stage at your event. If what is said on stage isn’t relevant, and if the speakers haven’t taken the preparation seriously, the rest falls flat too.
If you are going to speak in front of a group, it’s crucial that what you want to convey truly lands. You are not speaking for your own sake, but for those who are listening. You want to influence your audience.
Are you, or your organization, planning an important event where you will be speaking to employees, customers, or partners? Please — take the content very seriously. Make sure those who are speaking are as well prepared as possible, because this is live and you don’t get a second chance.
